General
     The Twin Disc HPTO 244 is one of a range of compact and lightweight power take offs and incorporating a hydraulically operated clutch, developed out of Twin Disc's unique experience in transmission technology. The oil filled, multiple disc clutch gives the HPTO a far longer service life for really arduous applications and remote control facility make it particulary suitable for marine installations.


Application
     Typical applications for the HPTO 244 are pumps, compressors, agitators, conveyors, wood choppers, rock crushers, winches, generators, blowers, fans, mixers, cranes, and hoists etc. Marine drive applications include bow thrusters, rudder propellors, etc.


Direction of Drive
     The HPTO 244 will drive at engine speed and in engine direction. Units can be supplied for either right hand or left hand rotation. This must be specified at the time of the order. The unit must be used in the correct direction of rotation or severe damage will result due to lack of oil pressure and internal lubrication.


Mounting
      The HPTO 244 can be supplied with either SAE1 or SAE2 adaptors for direct mounting to engine flywheel housing or without SAE adaptors for free standing units. Input drives available include Vulkan E4010 series direct mounted units or GWB 587.20 flange for free standing units. Output shaft is 70.0 mm6 diameter with DIN 6885 keyway. Four, symmetrically positioned, M16x2 tapped holes are provided on each side of the unit for mounting plates. The HPTO 244 is available with either mechanical selector lever or electrical solenoid selection. The dry weight of the unit is 105 kg.
